Mij[a]rchives is an experimental analog/digital mija and mami col[lab]oration. Our roots are firmly grounded throughout the kitchen tables of our homes, stemming across California and Texas. We tend to family archives and recognize that “documentation” is not enough. We unearth generational epistemologies, methods, and organizing tactics against the confines of the traditional archive and prioritize lived experiences bound by intimacies and emotions that further kinship ties. Our stories are cur[e]ated by and for our families.
